Parksville Gutter Cleaning does one kind of work and does it carefully. We clear troughs, run water through downspouts, repair sections that leak or sag, and install guards on roofs where they earn their keep.

What Oceanside trees leave in a gutter

Between Nanoose Bay and Bowser, the roofs tell you which trees grow around them.

Douglas fir and western red cedar drop needles and sprays that pack into a soggy layer. Bigleaf maple sends down big leaves and winged seeds in autumn. Arbutus on the bluffs over the Strait of Georgia sheds bark through the summer, so beach-side troughs load up in July and August.

The dry months make it easy to forget the roof. Then the fall storms roll in off the water, and a summer of debris has to carry a winter of rain.

We do not have one flat rate. A single-storey rancher off an open lot in Parksville and a tall house under firs near the Englishman River are very different jobs.

• Any shop, garage or barn you want included
