Downspouts that empty into the garden
Many downspouts here let out onto a splash block or straight into a bed. That is fine while they drain freely. When a downspout plugs, though, the water goes over the front of the gutter instead and lands in a sheet along the wall, washing soil off the bed and splashing it up the siding.
After cleaning, we run water through each downspout and watch where it comes out. If a splash block has slipped and is sending water back toward the foundation, we tell you. If a downspout feeds a buried pipe that will not take the water, we tell you that too, so you can have the line looked at.
Moss on the roof, then in the gutter
Shaded roof slopes grow moss, and moss lets go in clumps when the rain comes. Those clumps slide down and lodge at the outlet. We lift them out by hand and check the downspout top, since one clump of moss can stop a whole run.

Our lot backs onto the Heritage Forest. Will our gutters fill faster?
Usually, on the side facing the trees. Old Douglas fir stands very tall, so its needles and cones carry onto roofs well beyond the trunk, and the gutters on that side tend to fill first. We clean the whole house and give the outlets on the forest side extra attention.
Our gutters drip at the joints even when they are clean. Is that a cleaning problem?
Not usually. A drip at a joint is normally a seam whose sealant has failed, or a corner piece that has shifted. We spot those while cleaning and can reseal them as a gutter repair, either on the visit or later once you have the quote.
Do you also wash siding or walkways?
